Never hurts to be overdressed. It shows you are serious and value their time. It will be appreciated.
On the other hand...if you are dressed causally, it can be interpreted as you are not serious.
For sure! Leaning towards a simple dress shirt rn. Thanks!
I feel a nice but not too formal dress shirt is risk free
Gotcha! Thanks!

is it in person? if so, suit no tie is a good look that can be further dressed down with the shoes.
if zoom, i think it would look extremely funny to wear a suit jacket or even a blazer when you aren’t leaving the house... especially in the summer. if you can control the temperature, what do you need a jacket for?
fwiw, i recently had a zoom interview and wore a shirt and tie. dark patterned tie, slate blue shirt. i thought it was a more realistic appearance, since the only function of a tie is to add formality.
Webex or Zoom? I did a few of these recently. We notice and think, “well, they’re taking it seriously” when someone is wearing dress clothes. Including a tie. You won’t get negative points not dressing up. You will get positive ones for doing so.
Tbh, no body wears a suit these days. I’d suggest you to wear a formal shirt and you’ll still look appropriate for your meeting. Good luck!
Thanks!
I think the comments here are all good; the only thing to add is regionalist. I think SC1 had a good comment especially if you have people that deal with the London City/Banking set. Suit/no tie for men works well; perhaps the women here would have some comments. I ask because I have mentees that are undergrads and I expect the topic will be coming up for me. Thoughts?
