Advice needed - boyfriend has almost 3.5 years of finance experience at a bank. Interviewed for PwC valuation senior associate and now recruiter says they want to hire him at “experienced associate” because he has no valuation experience. Is this too big of a step backwards in career? Should he push back and see if it gets him anywhere? If he does accept Associate, is it reasonable to ask for written, definitive timeline (1 year?) for promo to Senior upon meeting standards? Help!
Hi Fishes, I am bit confused to pick the role in KPMG lighthouse as Sr Cloud Data architect or Saama technology as a Project lead. Money wise it is not a big difference. In KPMG I will work with partner where as in saama I will work with project/program manager. Please suggest your opinion. Saama KPMG KPMG India

All of the senior SEs on my team have 4+ years of SE and/or SF experience. I’d target SE, maybe associate SE depending on the depth of your product knowledge and client facing experience. A lot of it will depend on how you do on the panel.
Probably SE
Senior. Don’t undersell.
If you're senior consultant, go for senior SE.
Thanks for the input! What would you say are the main differences in role/responsibility between SE and Senior SE?

A lot will depend on the market segment. You will have a tough time getting senior in SMB*. But should def go for senior at MM and above

Have you already applied? It’s more about where there have the need for ppl. I haven’t seen many seniors with 2YOE but it definitely is possible
Any reason why you're targeting the SE role and not the TA? Reason I ask is that SE is more pre-sales and involves a demos. TA is more on the implementation side.
The main reason is I’m a functional resource and I excel at demos and presenting the business case, but on implementation projects I need to work alongside a technical architect and data migration lead because I’m not technical enough to manage those streams of work

I got lead with 4 years of experience. Don’t sell yourself short

4 years out of UG? That’s impressive!
