Interview went well, Total 7 ppl interviewed me. I accepted offer verbally. Then I got promoted and I shared that to recruiter and my current compensation and offer are same. I shared my difficulty to recruiter as it will be a lateral move. He said he will get back to me in 1 day. Its been a week I haven't heard back.

Does it make sense to hire someone with UX design knowledge at an in-house company? We have one main website and two smaller websites (merch and media) and no mobile app. We have two candidates for an open graphic designer position but one has UX design experience and is asking for more pay.
