I’m currently interviewing and have 2 interviews lined up with the same company. One is related to stress management and the other is technical and management skills as told to me by the recruiter. Is it appropriate for me to ask the recruiter what to expect in these interviews as it relates to those two focus areas? Like case studies etc? They’re each only 30 mins so I can’t imagine I’ll get a case study.

I am contemplating a move to industry working at a VC, Tax Director role east coast. Looks like it will be primarily overseeing compliance with some aspect of advising on structures etc. There is another tax reporting head above me.

The potential comp is the low 200k with a 10% bonus (still higher than what I am making). I feel this is pretty low for VC standards but maybe my standards are also too high. I have generally seen 25% bonus with carry.

Any thoughts?

If you make it to senior manager at big four can you leave and become partner or director at mid size firm? Is this hard to do? I know there is a lot of politics at big four and have no interest staying in a senior manager role for 6-8 years and risk a chance of still not becoming partner. Also I got a long way to go before senior manager fyi.
