Has anybody ever hired a recruiter to help with the job hunt? Did it work well?

I applied for a job within my unit that I do not qualify for. Now, I have an interview for this job. Me knowing I do not meet most of the qualifications for this position has my imposter syndrome thinking I shouldn’t even do this interview because it would be a waste of time. Has anyone felt this way?

Have an upcoming pre first round evaluative case with McKinsey coming up. Any idea what to expect in terms of
- is it a full case? Or a smaller case like market sizing?
- how high is the bar to pass?
- will any behaviorals be involved?

Is there any difference in the interview process (including evaluation) for generalist vs. specialist positions at McKinsey right now?

It's day 2 for me at Deloitte (PDM) , just received my laptop yesterday , completed a few of the trainings and created/uploaded my resume. Coach and onboarding advisor have not been assigned yet. When do I get assigned to a project? What does that process look like ? How long does this orientation go on for ? And do I have to transfer all my stocks from robinhood to one of their approved brokerages?

Why would recruiters reach out to me, say they want to talk, then not follow up? Should I call them instead?

If schools don’t invite you to interview, why don’t they just release you like H/W? I feel like that’s the kinder approach

Beginning to consider going in house (4th, corp) - I really haven’t thought about what I want, partly because I’m not sure what’s out there/attainable. Is it a bad idea to start by applying to a couple positions that interest me and seeing where that gets me? I’ll of course prep for the interviews but am afraid to burn potential bridges if I ultimately decline because I’m still figuring things out.

Anyone have slow months where you burn through a lot of your allotted pro bono/professional development hours to keep hitting minimum daily hours? The past few weeks have been like this for me. My last therapist keeps coming up in my mind. I left her when I moved to a new area before COVID dug in and frankly it felt like leaving a girlfriend.
