Any suggestions for incorporating equity into compensation? i.e. If you were targeting 180k TC, and are@told ~25% of comp is equity.. what exactly does that mean, and what should you ask for salary?
Any thoughts on interviewing with 1.5-2 YOE in consulting, what level I would be coming in as at BCG? Wasn’t informed in my interview offer
have been given an assignment as the next step in the interview process. need to build a campaign reco for one of the agency’s existing clients. anyone else get similar asks in the past? usually i’ve been given old briefs, which i’m comfortable with, but this is new work for a current problem... how would you approach?
Does anyone here work for Dalberg / worked for them? I have an interview coming up and would love to pick your brain. Thanks!
I need to take a day off to fly to a different city for a job interview next week. What do I tell my current job? Do I call in sick, request a personal day, etc?
Lateral move from Big 4 strategy entry level to smaller PE firm consulting branch working with portfolio companies. Would require moving within the same state, comp is about the same. Is this move worth it?
Relocated to a new agency 6 months ago. Currently feel like it’s not the right fit. Should I stick it out for the full year? If I leave, I owe them my relocation bonus. Thoughts?
I'm currently an audit supervisor who will be starting as an accounting manager at a smaller firm. My current salary is $95K and the new place is $100K. When I put in my two weeks notice, my current firm offered me a promo to manager for $115K. I am completely drained from auditing and I really don't want to stay any longer. After initially already accepting my offer at the smaller firm, should I go back to negotiate my offer to get a higher salary using the new info as leverage?
I got an offer to inherit a book at a competitor plus a lower salary than I have now. I’m considering taking it considering the flows alone on the new book are worth it to me... I think. Thoughts?
I’m interested in possibly in using the Predictive Index test for hiring purposes. Does anyone use it? Any information would be useful in determining if this is a good hiring strategy.
Just saw someone got denied from a job after counter offering in the coronavirus workplace bowl so wanted to gain thoughts from you all. I received an offer today from a great company and am considering counter offering for them to meet me in the middle since the offer is 20k below my current base salary. I’d like to counter for 10k more on my base salary. Has anyone experienced salary negotiations recently and are they working out?
Do any other firms have an early career investment bonus? I.e., allow you to elect a bonus amount and corresponding payout date 18+ months in the future when you're a staff?
Trying to exit out of PA as a senior with CPA, and I’m applying to FP&A, Sr. Accountant, and Sr. revenue accountant roles to cast my net wide. When the time comes, I’m not really sure which one I would chose. Nothing particularly interests me, and I’ve just been slowly inching forward in my life without a real direction. I feel like a college applicant again, trying to decide what my major will be. All I know is I’m exhausted and drained from role. How bad is taking a gap in my resume to gather
I got laid off in January and have been trying to find a new job since. I keep making it to the phone interview and sometimes a second interview, but always get ghosted. It’s so disheartening. I have too much experience for an internship, and I have too little to be the top choice for copywriter roles. I know I’m a good writer, I know what I’m capable of, but it’s so exhausting trying to convince people. They always like my book but it’s never enough to get the gig. What can I do?
M7 infrastructure in Texas. I'm currently paid near bottom of scale in my group. I'm not upset and love my job and my peers. I have an offer for 40% raise to industry job. I prefer my current work though, both from daily work and career path. But 40% raise is a big deal. At what point is the pay raise more important than daily work joy. I'm stressing over this decision. I don't really want to leave.
Anyone work at CEB? interested in applying for a job there but want to know how the hierarchy works (associate consultant->consultant-> senior consultant is it?
Do you use your sick days when you're actually sick and being utilized, save them for vacation, or not use them at all?
Has anyone every gone on short term disability for a pregnancy? My company offers a policy thru Lincoln Financial that seems too good to be true. Wondering if the claims are easy to file or if the Insurance companies are a hassle to deal with for pay outs. Thanks!
Question: What's more important to you: salary/pay or the name of the company? (Friend asked me the question & I wanted to see what others thought)
Has anyone interviewed F2F recently (not over Zoom, but in person)? If so, did you and your interviewers wear a mask? Was there anything else different about "interviewing while COVID"?
My day is turning around, Ritz called and have a room for me...felt great to cancel a Marriott Suites 👌🏻
If I move into a financial analyst position after two years of audit experience (and 1 promotion) will i likely start at the bottom of the totem pole? Trying to get an idea of what my salary would be. I feel this role is kinda critical for my 20 -30 year plan so I’m willing to start at an A1 position again. any insight here would be great. Thanks
Is your company still expecting you to sell like there isn’t a pandemic going on, or is it just mine?
Is there anyone here who did a top Mba but then went back to work for two years for their original employer but then after that two years ended up exiting to either MBB or a faang type company?
How do you know after an interview reasons why NOT to take the job? I just came out of an interview and was already stressed with the potential job. Also started to miss my current gig
Thinking of moving from B4 to Accenture or Slalom. I mostly do Epic stuff. Pros seem to be no audit/independence crap, less travel, more tech work. Any cons?
