Based on the description of Option 1, all else being equal, it doesn’t seem like Option 1 is attractive. If the only upside is the title, I would take Option 2. As a general matter, titles are less important vs. the substance of what you’re doing since AGC at one company is not the same as AGC at another despite what the title may imply.
Option 2
Honestly, Option 1 will look better on paper, so if you ever need to jump ship, you can jump into similar roles. That may be worth the hassle for 1-2 years and then switch to another role.
These seem like wildly different jobs! The second doesn’t even sounds like it’s an attorney role (which is fine).
What exactly do you want to do for a living?
Do you want to be a corporate attorney with a fancy title and (presumably) a nice office you’ll spend every day commuting to? If so…Option 1
Do you want to do solid work with a less fancy title and enjoy your life outside of the office? If so…Option 2
Thank you for this I am strongly leaning towards two because option one is not a nice office at all it’s in a factory where they handle food shipping and I don’t think I’ll have work life balance the number one reason I left law firm life was for work life balance. I think I’m getting more comfortable with option 2. Maybe do option 2 and a part time legal job. Idk I’m still trying to figure it out
Is there a big pay difference between the two?
No
Second option. You could be doing the least legal work you’ve ever done in your life with Option one with what seems like little infrastructure and resources.
Option 1 for 1-2 years and jump ship if it isn’t working out. This option seems better for resume building to get the job you ultimately want.
