Bain & Company Hello Fishes.
What is the average CTC offered for a Research Associate with 1 year of experience in Healthcare consulting?
I'm looking forward for opportunities, hence would be great to know the current CTC trends to effectively negotiate with the employer.
Thanks in advance!

Austin might be a little cheaper than Chicago, you get 15k more, and you don't pay state tax in Texas. Seems like a no Brainer to me
Austin Texas has many opportuntinies and benefits, as you can always come back to Chicago after gaining valuable experience and the increase in network and exposure to other markets, Healthcare, I.T https://www.gravityusa.com/blog/austin-industries/
Great Opportunity for Growth in Texas!
Sorry you got countered for less than you would get for leaving and sorry what's the decision problem???
In most cases you should not accept the counter offer
Never bank on promises in Consulting. If they can hire someone externally now with a senior title, then they can give it to you NOW. Also, if they can’t afford $25K to match (should actually exceed), then they have bigger issues.
Rule number 1 of business: do not put any value on promises or things to come. Real value is what people can do for you now
I’m not seeing the value in the paltry counter offer, with the only guarantee being a measly $10K? What are you not saying about the new job offer that leads you to think it might tank?
Never stay on a counter
It will be held against you
This is what I have always heard and always practiced, near have I regretted this approach
Stay in contact with everyone. The reason you are leaving is not personal. Always leave the door open but take the new opportunity.
Target on your back next time a downturn. Unless he comes up with Sr title now, it will always be dangling in front of you. They know you have a foot out the door
If you can use every cent, why is this even a question?
Leaving would be a good idea. Consulting promises won’t hold up if market situation changes, given the promise is not immediately effective. Also, a slight dip in your performance or optics associated with it may also affect your chances. If the new gig is better and along the lines of what you want to do long term, you should take it. You can always come back to consulting with a more senior eg Manager if you would like.
Tell him you have a 165 offer and he should match or you walk
Bolt! A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.
If your boss was so eager to counter, he/she would have countered at $150k now and the senior title later
It’s very hard to tell without knowing place an and place b.
It don’t usually trust small firms with no culture,
They always tend to over work you.
Everything points to accepting the new offer
Leave. Never accept a counter. If you like your current firm, leave and come back in about a year and level up.
Leave!
There was evidently a reason why you wanted to leave. Sounds like they're promising a maybe to keep you there. Do what you want but seems to me leaving is the thing to do.
Never take a counter. You were looking for a reason. The bump and carrot dangle are a bandaid until they find your replacement. A lot of my roles this last year have been confidential searches for replacements. There are a ton of ppl looking and firms only want the ppl who want to be there. Leave and don’t look back.
Keep Austin weird. Bust also depends on the firm… T2 v T2? Or y’all just occasional compete. I assume with Austin they have a client lined up already and want someone “local,” vs in Chicago it’s a hub. If you’re going to travel, consider connecting everywhere but Dallas Houston.
