I’m fully burnt out (7 years working at big 4 - Manager II Level). I’m planning to quit with no plan B.
Any opinions or similar experience/decision?

Mental health takes priority. If you have the financial means to do it for an indefinite amount of time , then you can. Most people don’t. If you don’t have the financial means, you can be unemployed indefinitely in this market- but that’s your call

Taking time off, FMLA or any other short term benefits your firm offers should be the first step in my view

like

What qualifies someone for mental health leave? If they have PTSD or depression but haven’t been to the doctor recently can they qualify? I feel like they make it so difficult

How much effort and time are you putting into your transition?

By effort, I mean being intentional about preparation, presentation, delivery, and working your network to find exit opportunities that align to your career aspirations.

I was in a similar position and it took me almost two years to finally land an opportunity that I truly wanted.

The market is going to heat up this year so remaining employed would be my advice if you’re seeking an executive / Sr. Leadership role.

If that’s not your aspiration and you have six to eight months of living expenses in the bank then I wouldn’t tell you not to.

If you’re interested in higher level roles then I would find your way out. Organizations are not going to rank you high against competition who is gainfully employed while you decided to sit one out for a ‘mental refresher’

like

Why do you think the market will heat up? I think the exact opposite, many central banks have downgraded growth expectations because of the Iran war

Same time and level as you. I quit with no Plan B. Feel free to DM with questions.

This is tough to hear. Explore your long term disability benefit with a doctors note before walking out. These are benefits you have already paid for.

I jad an interview on 2nd August, 2022 and on 17th August, 2022. I received an email stating that interviewer is moving up your profile and contact a person email id for further information.
Since that day I haven't heard anything from the HR. I had called HR several times but no response from calls as well as mails too.
Anyone also faced this situation?
Please suggest me what to do as I have my last day in existing company nearby in 20 days

Does it look bad to apply R2 but quit after due date (before decisions)?

What salary range would you describe as middle class.

LCOL I considered my family middle class when my dad made 50k in the 90s. Life seemed alright.
