Im in the final round of interviews at VMware and news came on Monday that they are being acquired by Broadcom. Is this something that I should be concerned about? I know layoffs can happen after a merger/acquisition but there’s not much overlap between the two companies (chipmaker vs cloud infrastructure). My job will be a Sr Business Analyst role in internal strategy/improvement Any advice from folks experienced in M&A?

I’d keep interviewing. At this stage, your HR contact will know nothing. If given an offer, I’d ask to delay a few months and get assurances in writing that role is to remain. Personally I’d feel uncomfortable making the switch until after a year or so post merger
