Hi, I'm leaving Citi in 2 months. It's hard to make this decision. I have an offer from a small startup. In citi, my previous experience was not considered and was reskilled to different tech which is the reason for change.I don't like to exit citi. As I like the company so much. But considering my current knowledge,I am in the middle of the sea.I am afraid now that the new company's offer would be revoked due to this recession?Or can I take back my resignation in citi before the last working day.Is this wise decision?

I am also given the week after Xmas off. if my toddlers are sick I can work at home with them. Interviewing w fortune 500 that offers 15 pto days that have to use for sick days too.Strictly in office job 9-5 and dress bus.prof. These bad benefits? Outdated culture?I am a seasoned professional. If you’re focused on like DTC pharma drugs it’s pretty transferable but if you work on like HCP (healthcare professionals) and OTC it can be vastly different and more of a learning curve
Honestly the biggest hurdle I’ve seen is the clients aren’t always used to hearing it/ don’t want to hear it outside of pitches. They don’t always have the right background/ data to digest a fully baked strategy and just want to get right into media investment.
Very if you are a vp or more.
Have a passion for research that changes lives in
Pitfalls: government red tape, approvals for all changes and getting used to periods where all you’re doing for extended periods of time is research.
Pros: if you love deep thought provoking research and discussions this is for you.
Genuinely curious… why?
IMO, the vast majority of pharma ads are all the same crap… take this drug and you’ll lead or get back to a happy, healthy, active, social lifestyle. Cue smile and people doing whatever the “latest thing” is (pickle ball, speed dating, etc) together with others. Add a disclaimer about potential side effects like unexplained pregnancy, sharting uncontrollably, and potentially dying. It’s the take and smile equivalent to bite and smile QSR ads.
Vast majority of ads are not strategic or insightful. And, yes, I’ve worked on some and am personally guilty of going to those spaces first.
Guess it’s a low bar, but doesn’t seem like the category gets or wants conceptual thinking (strategically or creatively).
Typically teams prefer people with non-pharma experience. We are trying to break out of traditional pharma approach to work.
From a planning perspective, pharma is fun because they’re super hard problems to solve with a lot of hoops to jump through.
From a career perspective, once you’re in pharma it’s hard to get out. Most creative shops don’t respect pharma work.
