Cybersecurity professional here. First of all good idea. Especially seeing that you are coming from a vendor space. I'd suggest you go here first and identify which specific area in cybersec you want to venture into. https://cybersecurityguide.org/careers/ Hop right to the careers section on the left. Two, take basic courses from across the board. Sign up with Cybrary or even Coursera and look at Ethical Hacking(Tech oriented for the most part) Governance, Risk and Compliance( Policy work, audit and risk management), DevSecOps(mix of both software deployment and security). Also jump onto YouTube, there are tons of videos for beginners which aren't arduously long. 15 Mins tops. Would be happy to help further.
Get a mentor in security at Microsoft. Do not be afraid to ask, attend a talk or campus event (virtual or in person) and literally ask anyone you click with to mentor you. You will not regret it. They will say yes.
