I am currently pursuing a position to be a 401k workplace planning consultant with Fidelity Investments. I would like to connect with someone who has gone through that training and early hiring process to make sure I have a solid understanding of the position. This is specifically for the Raleigh/Durham NC area if possible.

I don’t want to practice case interviews and put on a front that I want to be a consultant . McKinsey is way better than my current consulting company, but I want another job that’s not in consulting
Doesn’t hurt to chat but wouldn’t take the offer unless you feel passionate about it (due to specific changes experienced during the process)

Which firm are you leaving?
Agreed with above. No one wants to be a PPT monkey
No, consulting is tedious. But maybe you’d like the interview process or something about McKinsey makes you passionate about it. Worth a final shot.
Can you land the job you want now? If not, bite the bullet and go for a year so you can write your ticket.
Can we switch?
Agree. I was in finance for a long time and just hated it, every time I switched jobs I thought it would get better because of the company, but it doesn’t. Find something that makes you happy.
