At Amazon, what is the difference between a Program Manager and Technical Program Manager? It looks like the Technical one gets paid about 25% more but not sure what roles/responsibilities they do differently. Amazon
Also how technical a background does someone need for a Technical Program Manager role?

We are under assurance, so typically we really don’t get paid dramatically more than audit. If comp is what you are aiming for, you can probably shop around some of the smaller firms like Connor Group or something. I think some of them give out pretty large bonus that is based on number of hours you charge.
Are u in west coast? After the audit pay bump this year I think FAAS is only slightly higher
If you’re highly ranked, take a look at A&Ms CMAA group. They pay exceptionally well and are very highly regarded. Just came over from another big-4 and extremely happy with my comp.
From what I know it depends. They handle IPO- related projects which are more time sensitive to purchase accounting to other technical work. They also do lease accounting implementation. Similar hours to big 4 accounting advisory (CMAAS, FAAS, AAS).

Sounds like you’re getting a good deal in audit. Senior 1 isn’t typically in the high 90’s or breaking 100k
I'm surprised pwc wasn't higher, but they're also under a cohort model, which is why there was no room to negotiate. Generally going to a different service line externally will get you a nice bump. Not only that, but I'm pretty sure CMAAS pays a little more than us, since they're under advisory
CMAAS S1 HCOL is well known cohort starts at 101k
If you tell ur your comp we can give you a better idea if they’re screwing you or not
Your audit comp must have just been really good already. Im doing a lateral switch to CMAAS from EY audit and my salary will jump 25% when I start.
