Just say no.
Just say No you can’t work
Chief
That’s too many hours! I agree with the other responder, just say no. You get a reputation for being the one who is always up to help then it will keep happening.
I am close to 51 also..and looking for my place in the world (Homecare) who has my same values and morals. If this company is treating you bad, find another. I have seen many many openings for CNA’s. My advice? You only have YOU! Your health needs to be kept at number 1. Even over your clients, which I know they are like family to you. You tell your place of employment the amount of shifts you’re willing to pick up a month and you WILL NOT work over 80 hours in a 2 week period. You need to tell them it’s ruining your health, I can tell just from your email. We are all on the same team regardless of your credentials, and I’m worried about where you are going. My mother passed at 52. She told me her anxiety caused her cancer. She worked sometimes 60 hours a week and was so stressed out. On her death bed she made me promise that if a job causes me that much stress and anxiety, they aren’t worth it and to find something else. I remember this everyday. Wish you better days with your job and just know, many people are struggling with finding a job (or keeping) due to shit economy and not knowing what our future on earth looks like anymore…best wishes
Get some white out and cover it up or when they call u say no.
There are laws about how many hours one can work. I hope you are being paid overtime. Keep a copy of your time card, at least a record with the patients ID number and the time you left. Don't use a name then they will get you on a HIPPA violation. If you are the oldest and they are dumping on you, age discrimination is so hard to prove or they'll say they ask you first because you're the best. You maybe but they can't try and kill you. Have a meeting but make sure you ask for another person present. You don't want "she said but she said". If you are union see your rep; if you are not union don't discuss it organizing, you will be fired. See your doctor, your Blood pressure is up a little, you don't want it "stroke" high. That too can be tricky because they can make you see their drs.. Make sure you have your employee handbook.
We need more spelling checkers. And that's the point you took?
