Thought I'd share another leadership opportunity, this time for industry leaders in the Tech & Digital sector. Would love to connect with anyone who is a senior leader (MD / SVP) with deep experience in this sector alongside leadership experience in a TA / Growth or Client Relationship environment. Amazing opportunity to further establish and grow our presence with global leaders in Tech.

I say go for it - it sounds like you are making a well thought out choice and you never know what is on the other side. Sometimes it is a bigger risk to stay in a nowhere job, than to take that first step forward. I am rooting for you!
Thank you for the encouragement!
I also quit my job with nothing lined up! It’s amazing. I’m in Mexico City freelancing for a month. 😍 I was also terrified but I know it’s the best decision I’ve ever made.
Good luck! You’ll be fine!
I left my job in early October - am currently job searching and also trying to find consulting work. I am so glad I left. I had become really depressed, repetitive in my thought patterns (in an unhealthful way), and quite grumpy. It had become so hard for me to put things in perspective. I do feel very very grateful that I am able to not be working right now. I certainly can’t be out of the workforce indefinitely but I do not regret my decision - even though the economy is not great.
That all depends on how many months of living expenses in liquid cash you have on hand and what the circumstances at work are. If it’s affecting your mental health and it’s not something you can work through until you have a resolution or work lined up, and you have the means to support yourself for up to 6 months, go for it. I was always told two things: never leave a job without another solid one lined up and it’s easier to find a job when you have a job. In the end, it doesn’t matter what any of us think bc it doesn’t affect us and you need to do what’s best for you. Best of luck to you!
I would also say relationship aside, have you weighed cost of living in the new area vs new salary? Might be double the money your making but if cost of housing, gas, food, etc is substantially larger in the new location it makes the grass not so green.
Don’t quit just before Thanksgiving! IMHO you will have a miserable time during the holidays. If you’re determined to quit, do it in Jan. If you want to stick it to your boss by leaving, trust me, he/she won’t care. They will replace you quickly or pass your workload to someone else in the team.
I totally hear you. I was so miserable at a job I had before (I got fired in late April). My boss was like, you get fired or you can quit. I chose to get fired because I knew I could probably get unemployment.
I totally agree that a job isn't worth your sanity. It depends on if you are single and your savings situation.
You could explore a contract or freelance to get a new job faster.
Yes, the economy sucks, but it's your life. Are you looking for permission to do what you already know you're going to do? You will make the best choice for you. Trust your gut. ❤️
Have another job lined up first! These bills are real! Protect yourself!
Can you wait until Thursday so you have a whole month of insurance?

I got insurance the full month of December !

Yes me too I know a few ppl one quit in June & still looking. However, I believe when you quit you’re also taking longer to land or let’s say settle. That dream job turns into I need a job. Just depends some ppl have family they can live with or borrow from. Also let’s not forget the pandemic changed the game. Remote roles are getting 600 resumes a recruiter told me. As far as that statistic I get jobs on LinkedIn reaching out all the time half of the roles don’t match my experience or expectations either in salary or skills either. LinkedIn uses algorithms. Roles I apply too have to tailor it down to companies in my salary level & then matches my experience & let’s not forgot ppl only share their wins just like social media.
I have done this several times and it's been awesome. However I always have savings, and I have no dependents. But not relying on partner.

No dependents is huge! I’m the same. So ready to see what else is out there the next few weeks/months. I know it’s chump change, but I’ve been walking dogs during my lunch and after work so Ill have a small income to offset some of daily living expenses too. The timing just felt right to me.
I did the same six months ago. It’s been great!
Unbelievable that young ppl think they should be promoted within only 2 yrs. For most jobs, it takes a full one year to 2 yrs to really know a job. How does it benefit a business to put all rhat investment in to simply get someone in to just promote them to a new job where 1. They are not yet getting full return on thevinvestment they put into you yet and 2. Put you into a NEW job where they start all overxagain. The expectation of being promoted in less than 3 to 4 yes is ridiculously fantasty and self absorbed.
Here is my thinking talentnet. It depends on the industry and company. For instance if your in sales and you come in and become the top performer in your first year then yes you should be recognized and should be up for a promotion. I believe that promotions should come from performance and not how long you have been with a company.

Thank you!
Are you still staying until you find another job or no?
You’ll be fine. If they want you to stay they’ll counter your resignation….the same thing happened to my mom she’s making a lot more at the same company but she’s still unhappy
I would get another job before quitting, especially in this climate.
What kind of savings do you have where you are comfortable quitting a job without anything else lined up?
Rising Star
I have 5-6 months of living expenses. Always been a saver. Also no dependents or car payment. Canceled all my subscriptions. I am prepared for the worst, but optimistic for a positive change.
If you get fired you can't get unemployment either right?
Depends on why you are fired
I would absolutely not (for those reasons) take the money, so the work and look for a new job.
Hm
Bad idea find a job first even if it’s something small or something you don’t care doing until you find a job you actually want
I did that in December and while January was packed full of interviews, it dwindled.
No don’t! Not yet!
