I’m ready to leave public after 2 busy seasons. I’ve been talking to a lot of recruiters. Many of them are suggesting a business analyst role. Is anyone on here currently in that type of role? Can you

I’m not but just wanted to say to be careful with recruiters. They only get paid when you switch jobs so they’re incentivized to help place you somewhere as quickly as possible. Make sure you do your research about the roles (like you are by asking this Q!) and think hard about what you wanna do!

There was one guy I stopped talking with because he replied “but they are a great company :)” to my list of reasons why I didn’t like what he showed me. Moved on to the next recruiter (there should be plenty in your inbox, there was for me with 2 busy seasons in) and found jobs that actually matched what we discussed.

It depends on the company. Titles aren’t universal unfortunately. I switched to be sr business analyst and I do accounting stuff like preparing Recs and testing controls, researching accounts, etc, but I also do finance stuff like analyzing fluctuations.

That sounds about right

I need advice.
I work at an manufacturing company as a technician. My job title is a technician but they use me as an engineer as-well. There are three techs overall in the company. My boss who hired me understands what my degree is in so he uses me to design parts and write reports. The plant manager doesn’t know my skills so anytime I’m in the office working he calls me to the floor to do something the other techs can do. Should I have a talk with the boss about it? (I ran out of characters)

So, a recruiter gave me feedback that my lack SPHR or SHRM-SCP is causing my resume to be knock out by AI and human recruiters despite my position and work history in Multinationals and being in Technology. They suggested that we put SPHR ( Lapsed). I let it lapse in 2017. What is your opinion? Plus if I were to take another certification - should I take SPHR or SHRM-SCP?

Ugh I wanted to take my son to see a UFC match in person. Just so happens there is one in November at Madison Square Garden - great right! I knew the tickets would be expensive, was willing to pay $400 to $500 a ticket as long as they were decent. The cheapest ticket in the whole arena, basically top row so you can’t see crap, is $506 before you start with the fees!!! Am I wrong or is that just bananas???? Oh well, pay per view it is, maybe have some friends over. Just complaining… happy Friday!

There’s no reason you have to put up with a job you hate. I spent many years working in a toxic environment with a boss who gossiped and lead through fear. He wasn’t really much of a leader but basically a foreman. And he could make my existence miserable. I admit that it wasn’t easy to find another job but the bottom line is: trust your guts. If you feel something is wrong it’s because it probably is. Don’t second guess yourself. Look for options and and fight for your mental health.
