I’m sick of seeing people wearing grubby clothes on Zoom calls. We are officers of the law and need to present ourselves accordingly. I don’t care that I’m working from home and my dry cleaner is closed. I’m pressing my own suits and wearing dressing as if I have court each day (even with no Zoom calls). It’s called professionalism.

Guys, this has been fun but I thought this was pretty clearly a joke. I don’t even have Zoom calls and if I did, I wouldn’t be wearing pants, let alone pressing my own suits.

I thought they broke up, and were in litigation over rights to 888-8888? (I think it's obvious that King Solomon would simply assign each of them 400-444-4444)

Unfortunately many people in our profession agree with the sentiments in your first post, so I get the misunderstanding. But thanks for making me feel much better about taking many zoom calls in my jammies and a sweatshirt.

I understand this might sound a little snobby but I'm not trying for it to come off that way. I've been around impressive people throughout my adult life. T-14 and big law have placed me in the company of some really accomplished individuals. It likely skewed the bar in terms of what I find as impressive.

My girlfriend's sister works at a Fortune 500 company and views herself as very accomplished. She's not a good person. I also don't find her impressive so I don't particularly try

How much actual court experience should a junior litigator expect to get in the first year? I've been my firm 6 months as a civil litigator not and have yet to go to a hearing. There have been a few (all relatively minor) but each time the partner tells me it's not important enough for me to attend. As a junior, I feel like I need to learn and no hearing is to minor. How else am I supposed to learn?
