Hi Everyone! I am Edith based in Toronto, a self taught UX designer since last year April by completing Google UX certificate. I have been working volunteer UX designer for NPO and participated two UX hackathon competitions. I am actively looking for UX intern/ junior position.

You might not understand all of the programs/software/websites they use to manage the product. Don’t sweat it.
If you don’t know how to do something, that’s ok. Just ask or say… I don’t understand/know this. No one will be mad (unless they suck as humans).
Learn the lingo. Every company has their own lingo but most design teams/product teams use verbiage that might not be familiar. Google was my best friend.
Good luck! You’ll do great.
I think understanding ux best practices is going to go a long way. At the beginning I googled a lot as well and learned common terminology in ux. I also have a graphic design background and I think having that visual design button down is going to go a long way. Focus on learning UX and also don’t forget about accessibility! Best of luck!
