I would say helpful. Back in the day, I had an unreliable car and we couldn’t call out. That got you fired. So I absolutely had to take a taxi (yeah, before Uber was everywhere). These days I’m always willing to pick some one up or drop them off. Work probably needed you, I don’t understand why the assumption is creepy. I hate to think people think that of me when I wished I had someone to drive me back when, instead of having to pay.
This shouldn’t be viewed as creepy. Your jump to that is for lack of any other word — strange. Your manager has a business to run. You are part of running that business. Maybe look at the situation through this lens. Business is a wheel. You are an employee that is a cog in that wheel. Doesn’t run as efficiently without you. Be grateful management is willing to go to such lengths as to make sure you get to work.
Legit l🤣🤣🤣🤣
First off, why would you even ask if this is creepy? Sounds like you wanted to have the day off more than anything.. the weather is so bad that I would be grateful to have a boss who was willing to come out into the cold and come get me. People are using the weather as an excuse to get off. Unless there's something going on that we don't know but obviously if there was sounds like you would say that.. and no this is being a responsible adult and showing up when you're needed.
Especially in this weather it's not like people are lining up to cover shifts, remember this one day when you have that not so great boss who instead reprimands you for calling off. Showing that you will accept the ride and come into work shows initiative..
Maybe that’s why your name is still unemployed 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️ not to be mean but OP is jumping to creepy when someone who employed them is offering to ensure they safely make it to work. It’s not fair to assume a creepy vibe from something so harmless.
I was a manager and always helped my employees male or female when they needed a ride or whatever nothing creepy about it.
No way to answer whether it's helpful or creepy without knowing more details and context. I mean, we know nothing about you or your manager or what your working relationship is. My inclination would be to think the person was trying to be helpful, unless I had reason to think otherwise.
The fact this is viewed as creepy bugs me unless he made a move or had made you uncomfortable before it’s not creepy not everyone is bad
It is your responsibility to get into work on time. Your Manager has very graciously offered to help out. Appreciate it.
I think it's helpful as long as you have a pretty normal relationship. My manager once paid for me to take an Uber home because my boyfriend couldn't pick me up because he got stuck at work. It was really nice and I appreciated it.
Why would “creepy” be your go-to? I understand as women we have to be more vigilant but, I want to know if he has ever given you any “in real life” reasons to think that way because to just make that assumption without causation is uncalled for.
That aside. I would love to have been able to help my team members get to work when unexpected things came up. In the company I was at it was considered fraternization for our employees of different titles to give each other rides. We all seem to forget that sometimes nice is just nice.
Is there more context? Someone offering a ride when in need is helpful. I’m wondering what made you feel unsafe or unsure. My boss would come get me and it’s purely KPI driven lol
As a manager I have picked up staff to make sure they got to work. Not only does this help them to make sure the shift is covered but it also helps you to get paid. Look at it as helpful
I’d say that your manager was being very helpful.

I think we need more details to determine that
Helpful, I feel like.
GEN-Z
A manager who didn’t want to do your shift so driving yu in was better option
Are you on his way to work or does he have to go out of the way? Worse yet, was he already at the store and is leaving to come get you?
What is with these young kids trying to make everything out to be creepy? He is literally trying to help you and you’re thinking it’s creepy? I would have jumped at the chance for someone to help me.
Gen Z - STOP WITH THIS. Someone helping you isn’t creepy. Someone offering help isn’t creepy. The automatic “fear mongering” isn’t necessary and shouldn’t even be entertained. You were just raised with the wrong mindset and it’s literally ruining society because now nobody wants to help anybody and it’s all because of this. I desperately need help myself right now and because of this mindset, nobody is willing.
Not only are you hurting yourselves, but you’re also hurting others. Or does that even matter to you?
Helpful id just go
Depends upon the manager. I've had some creepy ones in my lifetime. I've had one get arrested on the job.

Helpful? I don’t see how it’s creepy, especially if they need you at work.
Of course unless he IS a creep. But if it’s a normal business relationship this is actually pretty great of your manager. I’ve had to take a taxi a few times to a job that was 35 minutes away bc my manager was an ass.
