Need help deciding if this offer is worth moving for. Received an offer from Booz Allen Hamilton for an Associate level Sr. Systems Engineer in Los Angeles for $135k base. I countered $150k and a $15k singing bonus and asked if I could be brought on as a lead associate since I've been a lead/manager for a while in my current company.
Current company TC: $125k in Utah.
YOE: 7 with M.S. and MBA
Is the switching cost/risk and higher COL worth it?

charging a flat rate is superior to hourly rates.
set yourself an hourly rate in your head, multiply it by the amount of hours you think the project will take from conception to completion, and tack on a few more hours for administrative tasks like emails and presentations.
decide on the number of rounds included (i usually go with three) and there's your rate.
sum all of this up in a contract. contracts are important. and refuse to work until they pay at least 50% deposit.
source: have freelanced a lot and have learned from the burns.
I charge 65 an hour and I'm a jr ad. Some could say it's high but I'm accounting for the 7 years of design under my belt + taxes. I'll be raising it soon since I'm getting promoted. Also, depends if ur doing digital or traditional, both based on ur Xperience and market demand could vary.
100 / hr mid level AD
I base my rate on the client and type of work. If it's an established business, you can charge your full rate otherwise you may have to go down a bit if you know the client can't pay. But don't under value your work. If you charge too little you'll regret even taking the job. My past two jobs I charged $65/hr (sr AD) But they were both for friends or friend of family.
