AWS cloud application architect. Had an on-site interview with AWS a few days ago and just got an email saying they want to talk to me about next steps. The role is cloud application architect but I want to ask them about the senior cloud application architect role. I have all the relevant experience for that role and feel like I’d be a better fit for that senior role. How should I approach this conversation? Is this even possible? Amazon

What’s the pain point that a PM would solve or help with if they don’t already have them? I can throw stuff out there but that doesn’t mean it will help your cause if it’s not the pain that you have currently.
We have the same issue. Usually the account people fill the role but it can be confusing without a PM,
If you don’t have an account team, I recommend bringing in an assertive and seasoned producer (preferably senior creative if budget allows) rather than a PM.
A creative producer is multidisciplinary:
(1) S/he is responsible for all logistical and operational duties traditionally handled by PMs: SOWs, scope, scheduling, tracking, routing, QA, internal reviews & feedback, etc.
(2) Is client-facing and handles all associated Account responsibilities: budgeting, scope, creep, primary client liaison, change orders, asset/project delivery, up selling, and keeping you and the partners abreast of status through daily/weekly reporting, etc.
(3) Top-notch creative producers frequently have backgrounds, or proficiency, in design, copywriting, production, development, strategy, etc. They have the tools to troubleshoot, pivot, and course correct on the fly l, as well as help with creative overflow. They also know the level of effort required to meet deliverables and deadlines.
They shorten the degree of separation from creative and client (fewer channels, cleaner communication). Find a strong negotiator who can set company & client expectations from the get go.
Not needed.
