Don’t do it you creep
Likely disabled by Accenture to make it harder for you to break the law by recording people without their consent, depending on the location of the conversations. If you google onenote enable audio recording registry you’ll find an article about how to override it
I have a bad memory due to traumatic brain injury. If someone thinks I’m a creep or I’m not smart, whatever. I work 10x harder to compensate for my injury, and I do a damned good job. I know you didn’t know that but please think before you call someone a “creep” or say I’m a weirdo.
^A5 First sentence was not needed. Weird flex, but it’s okay I guess.
I’m in a state where it’s legal to record, and I inform people (though it’s always important to check, state laws vary)
Just use sound recorder on your laptop. Or use your phone to record it
Yep. Illegal to record without consent
Op - so say that in your story don’t blast people after the fact. It’s not normal to record conversations but if you explain your traumatic brain injury it would make more sense.
In this day in age, I would be very uncomfortable with anything recorded since so much can be taken out of context. Several high profile cases of people losing their job due to recorded conversations.
There was no flex. I stated it so people know the comment is based in fact. I often time find people on fb talking out of their ass, so I find it refreshing when I read a post from someone who is basing their comments in fact
You can edit a reg key but it’ll revert after a while
I don’t think anyone cares if you tell them though?
Accenture wants you to pay them to record the meeting for you
My boyfriend is a criminal investigator for the United States Courts. The laws of surreptitiously recording conversations vary state by state and it could get very grey depending on where people are located. for instance, if you are a NY based employee on an OH project (two one party states) however, you’re attending the meeting on a layover in IL (a 1 party state) then it’s illegal to record. HOWEVER, unless this meeting could involve some type of civil or criminal litigation then record away no one will know, no one will care. Furthermore, I have no doubt that buried in the fine print of Accenture’s polices and procedures is a line that says the content of meetings is their property so you’re an employee working with their content and just making a different copy of it. No problem
It’s disabled because there is a fee to record on skype for business.
A1 how do I do that? And is there a reason for why it’s greyed out?
IT would have disabled it. If u try reg edits, they would revert it during their periodic asset sweeps
Federal law is you only need consent of one party to record. Meaning if I’m having a convo with you and I consent, I can record. Meaning, if you’re a creep and eavesdropping others, illegal. If you’re part of the convo, legal. ACN prob still doesn’t want to deal with it though
@Accenture2 not in ny apparently
Op, everyone is going to be like “okay” but this guys a weirdo who can’t take good notes and needs to record conversations. I would hate working somewhere where recorded conversations were the norm.
D2, the laws vary by state. Your Fed law post is misleading.
