I'm trying to recruit for MBB, but I have a 28 on ACT. Will they not interview me? (This would be for entry level).

Though the same could be said for you. I work in IBD. Not going to say which group obviously. But that isn't the point- the point is that MBB is evaluating candidates based on a test we took in HS. I was an ENTIRELY different person then, and did well enough at a target school to get into IBD.

Yea but the recruiters are asking for it. It sucks because I did do well enough on GMAT and worked at GS- like give me a break.

I'd leave it off...have you taken the GMAT or GRE? You can disclose just that

like

Where at GS do you work? You could be in the mailroom for all we know

like

Oh, if you have a solid GMAT score they'll almost certainly ignore the ACT

like

Yeah I got a 18 on my ACT, sure as hell doesn't matter now...if a recruiter ever asked me Id say I never took it

like

It's not a bad ACT score, just on its own it doesn't really turn heads. Odds are since it's pre-MBA recruitment their standard policy is to check SAT/ACT since they would assume you haven't done the GMAT. In other words your fine

I'm sure they'll look at the GMAT over the ACT.

Good luck with MBB recruitment!!!!

Thank you!

Any sense of the expectation of benefits (e.g. 401k match, vacation days, RSU)? Realize there’s a broad range by company and level, but curious what people have seen.

I applied at Amazon last year a couple times and never heard back. No biggie. I'm happily employed as a Sr. Developer at EY now, since late 2021 (Still pretty new) . A few days ago, I got a message from a hiring manager on Amazon wanting me to apply for a position similar to my current role (but not a senior level) . I looked up the salary for my area and it's a broad range. Is it even worth it to pursue? A part of me is curious but another part of me likes the people and culture of my new job.

I started a new job at a big law firm 3 months ago (hired as a second year), and at the time, I was told normal workweek is 60 hours, holidays off, etc. Within a week of taking the job, the hours skyrocketed to 90 plus hours per week, with 17 hour days and full weekend work. It also isn't showing signs of letting up. I'm genuinely considering seeking a new position already, because this is taking a toll on my mental and physical health. Any advice on job seeking with only 3 months in?
