In my 2nd year at plaintiff’s personal injury firm….reallllly don’t think this is my calling. Not sure if it’s the firm culture, the fact that I’m the ONLY female attorney, or if it’s just a “me problem.” I’m very involved in local bar associations, I have a life outside of work, and have never felt more isolated than when I walk in the doors of my law firm. How do I get into business/compliance/regulatory firms….I’m definitely a contracts nerd….Just looking for any other general advice also.

PI is definitely not for everyone, and unfortunately there’s a lot of very shitty firms that will drain you. If you have litigation experience, you may be able to leverage that into some sort of regulatory or compliance role, maybe in a government setting. IRS maybe? 🤷🏽‍♂️

What size firm are you at? Could just be the culture there. I work at a mid size PI firm… At least to think it’s mid size. 8 attorneys, 2 are female, and almost all of the paralegals, admin staff, and office manager are female. Everyone gets along pretty well and seems to be happy here.

It’s mid-size….7 attorneys and only 2 of the support staff are male, the rest are female

Prayerfully, this transition will be a good one.

I often fail at some interviews badly.
Not sure till when I'll be able to carry forward by this and the hard wlb at FAANG companies is giving me a fear.

What’s a good LA or NY business litigation firm and salary to expect? I’m a 2yr with quite frankly a lot of experience across civ rights, PI, excessive force, wrongful death, employment defense, K dispute, corp. structure dispute, professional licensure. In house or M&A/Real Estate Transactional are likely the end goal but want to get the litigation out of me first.

In an auto accident trial, can you inform the jury in any way that the at-fault driver had insurance? I have a hard time believing a jury would award 7-figure damages if they thought the little old lady defendant had to personally pay. I’m just starting to do PI on the side by myself at my firm, so this is probably a very dumb and obvious question.
