They are separate to me too. It is a different frame of mind when I am making work goals and personal goals. I love the idea of making them fun, and not just focusing on negative things you want to change, although that is important. Still working on both sets, anybody else have a finished list?
I don't consider work goals for the coming year to be "resolutions." Resolutions are more "fun" related -- like lose 20 pounds, take my wife on a date night at least twice a month, take my son fishing more often, etc. Work is work. It isn't fun and it isn't supposed to be.

Each goal/resolution is its own thing. Some years I have more work related ones and some I have more personal ones. Depends on where I am in life.
I always keep them separate in my mind. My New Year's resolutions are just personal things, and they can involve anything from walking more to reading more books. Work goals are contingent on so many things that I don't really make very detailed ones. A lot of it will just be coping with what comes along and adapting to circumstances.
My work goals are always changing mostly because the work and demands can change in an instant.
Yeah I don't consider work goals to be part of my resolutions unless the work goal is like "find a new job" lol then that feels like a personal resolution. And that is indeed on my list this year!
I would consider them separate things as you do. I feel resolutions are about your and your lived experience while work goals are means to have a better lived experience if all goes well. If the two mix I feel like you’re essentially saying you live to work as well in a way.

I think a work goal can be a New Year’s Resolution but not all NYRs have to be work goals.
