Recently got my CPA license in August & considering leaving public accounting for Industry. Should I expect my new role to pay for my CPA license renewals/AICPA membership/CPE classes? These things add up &I feel like should be considered when transitioning. Thoughts?

4th year at a mid size PI firm. Got pulled from litigating MVAs to help this solo we hired start a med Mal/nursing home practice. 1 year in and it looks like I’m two steps backwards in terms of getting paid because we’re a year or more out from a lot of the fees hitting. Senior Manager is definitively the worst job at the firm. Not all the time, but most of the time. (And yes, I "speak up for my needs". Response is "cry me a river don't care") Do other SMs feel this?

At what point do you draw the line on WLB? Working insane hours on a long/term project with what feels like no end in sight. It’s not sustainable but clearly expected. Could you get fired for drawing lines in the sand and saying (example) “come 8:30 every night I’m logging off”. That’s a 65 hour work week as-is but I currently am up until midnight working consistently. For context I’ve been rated as a strong performer consistently and am not new to the job so it’s not a lack of understanding.

I work on short-term projects with very scrutinized budgets, yet my utilization is supposed to be 100%, so my hours are scrutinized by the teams I work with and leadership. It feels like it's all they care about. Has anyone moved firms due to such reason?

I need to take a leave of absence for mental health purposes. How do I bring this up with my boss? Or do I talk to HR directly? I took some time off this month due to burnout but I did not tell them that was the reason. I thought I'd be okay when I got back, but I'm not. I don't know if they will give me the leave of absence.
