P4 - I moved into IFS (not into NV) from MC, as did most people in New Ventures. There is plenty of IFS work that is admin, and plenty that is strategic working with our firm leaders and clients. I know people who were offered raises to make the move, and presented strategic analyses to CEOs of our clients... In IFS, I traveled more (in one year, Hong Kong, Barcelona, Zurich, Amsterdam, Sao Paolo, Dublin, among others), made more than some of my peers in MC who I started with, and worked with our senior leaders. So if you don't know what you're talking about, trying to be condescending just makes you look like an idiot who knows little about the firm s/he is a part of.
It's pretty new group but high visibility and high strategic importance. Good place to be in my opinion. Don't know about pay, but from what I've seen good group of people.
IFS culture and travel is better, pay scale is lower
That's just not true. I personally know people in the New Ventures group. Do the others who responded about IFS know anything about new ventures or is this speculation on your parts?
I know nothing about New Ventures, but that is a generalization about IFS.
@pwc5 I need to talk to you more about this. Can you send me your contact at pwc5burner@gmail.com
Which group is it?
"PwC New Ventures," not sure if that answers your question.
If it's in IFS, it's fairly low value admin work and not consulting. Try posting in an industry bowl?
OP - I dont know much about the role, but its a solid team... worth the conversation, lots of strategic backing of leadership.
I stand corrected... But it's probably worth considering that I'm definitely not alone in my perception of IFS as less skilled, slower paced, etc. If you don't care, totally fine, as it sounds like good work.
Worked with a Diector who is leading some of the New Ventures stuff. Nice guy, trust him to build a good team
