I make $160k and pay $2600, it feels like too much. It’s nice but it’s just throwing money away. I’m going to downsize and save more when my lease is up.
Pro
Making $120k, just moved into rent control 1BR, paying $1,835/month and I think that's too much. Housing costs are just ridiculous
A 1br with a den for $2.6k in the city is a reasonable price for that amount of square feet. But if it's doesn't feel worth it to you then you should def move. 650 sq ft is more than enough space for one person.
If you can save as much as you want to save with those fixed costs, it’s fine and you should go for it. Whether or not people think it’s excessive is meaningless
I live in one that’s about the same price and I love it! Between the amenities, location, and overall apartment feel. I think it’s totally worth it
I’d opt for the smaller place with sunshine if you can make the budget work.
I have something of less amount in a more serene environment. Bright & sunny 1bR apartment near DuPont circle for $1450/mo including utilities
I rent my NW condo for $2695. Parking is another $200. Second floor, small bldg (no amenities), but balcony and 760 sf and east, west and south windows. The light makes a big difference.
Should add It’s a 1bd I rent furnished including utilities.
I pay 3700 for a 1 br + den and I don’t think it’s worth it
