Disney Streaming Services I completed my interview process with DSS early last week, and was reached out by recruiter that all rounds were strong hires, and they are extending an offer. We set a time to talk on Friday about the offer. However, the announcement of targeted hiring freeze happened on Friday. I was ghosted with no call. What should I expect now? Would I still have chance to be offered?

Which one to choose between Optum and Tiger Analytics for Data Scientist position? Where can I expect better data science domain expertise (In my previous companies I found very less understanding of Data Science practices as team)? Heared good things about both of these. Also hearing Tiger is expanding rapidly and getting some crap projects as well in the name of data science. Could someone put light on these things?
YOE: 4.5 Years
Tiger: 18L Fixed + 1L JB
Optum: 21L Fixed + 1.5L JB

Im not searching for a new job but an acquaintance reached out about a similar role at a similar energy company.Turns out 2 ppl threw my name in the hat. I looked into it and the position was posted 2 weeks ago.Their director wants to meet.I bet pay is one of the first things to be discussed so that no one’s time is wasted.Am I crazy for not wanting to entertain it for less than 20-25% base pay increase?Is it selfish to ask for more? I’m sure most salary conversations end in negotiation anyways?

1. Brand - prestige? Who’s the audience? Peers? MBB is cooler. Clients/business leaders? They keep us all busy.
2. Title - Director is a level above EM.
3. Pay - Big 4 strategy groups pay comparable to MBB so a step up to director should be a healthy step.
4. Work - it’s basically the same methodologies with everyone’s own spin. Clients are all the same.
You can get to partner much more quickly if that's what you want to do. You'll likely be underwhelmed by the talent of your peers. Not that there aren't strong performers (there are many in my experience at k strat), but there is more prevalence of duds.
EMs at MBB can make more than Directors in Big4. My personal take is that I would never do it for the personal brand reasons. People will assume that you left because you couldn’t hack it in MBB. The exception to this is if you went AP to Partnership somewhere. I’d wait until you can make that jump.
Director is non-equity at D but it’s the highest level. I’d make that switch
I know people who said they did it for the better work life balance.
No it’s not a step down. But be clear on what you are doing and why. A Big4 D role is very very different to a McK EM role.
If you can get promoted at MBB in the next 1-2 yrs I’d stay there. Will be tough to network unless you have work you can sell easily
