It’s been 6 months since I’ve been at Deloitte and consulting is not at all what I expected it to be - not trying to be rude but I genuinely hate it here. The hours are killing my mental health, lateral moves seem impossible, and am led on a wild goose chase of who to reach out to to address my concerns. I just graduated last year and am wondering; do I stick it out for another year and a half for better exit ops or jump ship? Don’t know how much longer I can take it. Any advice would be great

Guys there’s this boot camp that I came across that trains people to get jobs in Top consulting firms and has a fee plan wherein you pay once you get placed. I just wanted to know if someone here has any experience with this ?

I think what draws me to a project is the subject, what makes me leave are the people.
Perfect answer. One can only know the subject upfront. The people reveal who they are later. The manager is the most important.
When looking, it’s the subject. Hard to judge the people in such short order.
People. Any subject can be interesting.
People. When I’m working this hard, I want to trust and like the people I work with every day
Subject matters more, but I would make decisions based on team if I knew they were really good or really bad
Subject because Im generally hired as a fed HR SME. Idc who I work with as long as they respect my background. I hate have to fight with ppl who dont understand the complexity.
I’ve passed on many roles that would’ve been comp increases, one of them drastic (~60%), solely because I didn’t like the people. I’ve worked at two truly toxic places, regardless of the subject matter, people can be a deal breaker.
Subject matter is important, WLB not so much, but if I’m spending long work weeks with a person/team and I don’t like them, I’m going to hate it and just try to find something else. If I like them, it makes the work and collaboration so much more enjoyable. The joy I get from my work has increased a ton since making that decision
