I'm sorry, I know this feeling all too well. Have you tried reaching out to staffing agencies that specialize in healthcare? I know it's not ideal, and the pay might be lower than what you're used to, but some of them have connections that get you past the resume black hole. At minimum it could be something while you keep looking for permanent roles. Hang in there ❤️.
I’m so sorry but I’m going through the same thing
During Covid the schools closed and as mother we had to take of our kids but this recruiters always ask the gap in my resume. I did caregiving at night because the company I worked for had kidney patients who couldn’t come to doctors appointments anymore.
I don’t understand why this recruiters disregard the Covid period😡😡
No one responds they say it's open and it's a great fit for you but then I don't hear nothing else back so I don't know if they even
I'm an RN with 25+ yrs of experience. It took me 4 months of fulltime looking to find a job. I let Chat GPT review my resume and improve it to be specific to the job I want. Copy and paste your resume and then say you're pasting the job description and paste it. Chat will produce a beautiful resume in seconds. I even got a call for an interview from a hospital system who has a hospice unit. I have applied at least 12 times for jobs at that facility. I have 3 months of experience in that speciality and using the Chat resume got me a call for an interview. That's the closest.
Your resume must need some TLC, resumes are often sent through screening via computer-based systems as STEP 1 - you need key words and a skill section listing all your skills, or you never get your resume in front of a human being.
Medical Assistant- in what state have you been applying for jobs? My organization in Illinois is hiring MAs. I agree- do apply directly to hospital systems and medical groups, not all companies use staffing agencies. Keep the faith!
How can I become a MA?
Same applied to 70+ jobs this month. Hang in in there my man
The company I worked for ended our contract last year in March, ever since I been struggling to find a job
I hate to give bad news, but things are going to get worse before the end of February. My company is a huge pharmaceutical/insurance company and will be laying off 2000 people.
Awe dang..
Let's make that #109 job applications... ugh.. feeling hopeless. What other jobs should I look for? Suggestions??
First of all know that it’s not you. The job market is crazy right now. Make sure you’re checking Glassdoor, indeed and LinkedIn frequently
Yes, I just accepted a part time job that is an hour one way from my home so I can get at least SOME income going. It's not what I want, I dread starting next week but the healthcare job market is very, very slow right now and seems to be even more so for seasoned nurses. I think too some of the AI reviews of applications/resumes play a part. If you haven't considered long term care, hospice, home health or dialysis take a look at those - they are usually hiring - and quickly. May not be what you want but its something and gets you back working which for some reason makes getting another job easier.
Same here hunny 26 years of Cna/Ccma license and all I get was thank you but we went a different way , i feel like crap , my husband is working 100 plus hours and I can't find anything, i work a 2 hour job every day, cleaning for a fitness place . Im hoping you and me both find something soon.138 applications 🙂 and going strong
Yes I have been unemployed since 9/2025. I have a dual Masters and cant find anything.
Yes, I have applied for over 80 now since October I have had 8 interviews then they either say nothing or nope more qualified individual got it. I had 12 years experience with the Epic program and someone else was more qualified?
I always get overqualified. REALLY??????
LOOK AT WHO'S WORKING IN MEDICAL OFFICES.
And I get I am overqualified. That is such a joke!!!!
I lost my job in September from a large Healthcare system here in pierce county....I have been hitting up every job sites literally 6-7 hours everyday applying. Its been crickets. No calls with an invitation to interview. I've also created over 12 different resumes suitable for various markets and all I get is silence and a "Thank you for applying" and I get silenced. Its crazy.
Omg yes
I feel ur pain , found a job as a cleaning person , im a Ccma and Cna , 147 applications, 6 interviews and still cleaning. It's the job market. It rough, bull crap I say . They hire workers that don't show up and don't wanna work . Ill just do wat I have too and keep trying . Dont give up . Praying for you 🙏
Its terrible out here. Since September I've been laid off and its been crickets. Not one phone call not one email for an interview requests. It's crazy. I didn't work so hard to get the experience I have just for all of it to sit stagnant. I'm about to run out of my unemployment benefits and quite frankly I refuse to just take a minimum wage job just to take a minimum wage job I would haveQuite frankly I refuse to just take a minimum wage job just to take a minimum wage job I would have to have 4 of the minimum wage jobs to cover my expenses and as a single mom, thats not feasible!
