Cutting alcohol out of your life is one of the best feelings. Your body will thank you. Maybe you’ll want to quit forever!
You can doooo it!!
Been going strong at this for the past month and a half just to try to be healthier. Once you get thru the first couple weeks it becomes really easy and you’ll feel great.
I should do this too 😂
If you feel like this isn’t just a bit of exploration and you might have some dependence on alcohol as a coping mechanism for stress or anxiety, prior trauma, etc., please also get support from a therapist, substance abuse counselor, or AA group (many are now virtual).
Not saying this is you OP, but just for sharing information or someone who might need it - if you have been consuming high quantities of alcohol for a long period of tine and quit cold turkey, you can have seizures so strong you break your own neck. Withdrawal from heavy alcohol dependence requires medical support and is covered by insurance. Obviously this does not mean it’s healthier or safer for you to keep drinking. Longterm effects of high quantity alcohol consumption are both well known and deleterious to one’s well-being. Alcohol dependency and substance abuse is seen as a disability and you can go out on a leave if you need it to go to inpatient rehab to support yourself in getting to that place if sobriety. Here’s a timeline for withdrawal symptoms, if you’re interested.

My best to you for whichever journey you’re on. You are worth it!
My husband has been alcohol free since Jan, just for the heck of it! Going strong and doesn’t crave it!
I am sober 2 years and a certified addictions interventionist and family recovery coach happy to talk! 🤍
Get ready to watch the pounds fall off; it's awesome

Good luck! Happy to recommend you some alcohol-free alternatives if you're interested
Sounds good. I'll assume most of you are US based. If not then it'll be a different list for Canada, Europe, or elsewhere. All of the following have <0.5% ABV so they're considered non-alcoholic. Note that because these aren't always made in the same way as their alcohol counterpart they won't be a 1:1 match in taste. The industry itself is still quite new so that might change in a few years. The list also isn't comprehensive as there's hundreds of products. These are just some of the most well-known. If you do want more details or want to know about a particular spirit or product let me know. This has definitely become my new hobby throughout the pandemic.

If you like beer, Brooklyn Special Effects is an excellent alcohol free beer
Same here only mine was to get sober from weed. I am on day 3 after smoking almost daily since I was 16, with about 9 months in total off between then and now (23 now). Good luck miss/mister! We have to do this for ourselves.
Did this when I was 🤰🏻. Fizzy juices / water and mocktails helped.
Good luck!
I’ve doing the same for the past few weeks. Hoptea is a decent beer substitute if you’re a beer person.
