Wanted to highlight Prudential Financial’s hiring practices. They rescinded my offer once I attempted to negotiate the salary. The official reason given was that I didn’t “sound excited enough”.
They then admittedly gave the offer to someone who was less qualified. There were other red flags throughout the job offer process that the HR team should overall be ashamed of.

I was looking into the job but the pay was pretty average for the industry so there wasn't too much of an incentive to move to Deloitte. I did like what I saw of their collaborative approach. I think it would be a good opportunity to gain experience that has value. I would consider it.

If you want to do real PMing, consulting is not the way. The amount of BS you have to wade through to make a decision is counter to all PMing good practices. It’s why I left Deloitte myself.
I think it's also important to consider whether you're planning to continue consulting or not. Employers know the process is different for a consultant, so if you aren't planning to consult forever, making the switch could help strengthen your resume in terms of PM experience.
It’s not a real PM job and pay is low. I recommend passing on it.
Hmm, maybe a good call. Whats considered “low” ?
If you'd like to work as a PM and are able to make the switch back, that seems like a great and appropriate step into it. How long has it been since you were there?
