Is anyone here an OGE Form 450 filler? Considering moving into a role where this would be required. I’m not in gov now. I have some passive investments in limited partnerships and hoping to understand if these would be problems, as my understanding from published OGE guidance is that conflicts of interest of the general partner are imputed to limited partners, even passive ones.

Are the investments in companies directly regulated by the agency?

The scenario I’m concerned about is like this — I invested in XYZ Fund 10 LP, managed by XYZ Manager LP as the general partner. I’m a passive limited partner. Let’s say that fund invests in 50 companies and I know which companies the fund is in. Great, we can assess whether there are conflicts, and I can recuse myself if needed. But according to https://www.oge.gov/web/OGE.nsf/0/A16C6A6950C55E12852585B6005A1F90/$FILE/Private%20Investment%20Funds.pdf XYZ Manager LP’s conflicts are imputed to me, so when it is also the manager of funds 1-9 (which, assume also each invested in 50 companies) which I have not invested in, my potential conflicts have grown exponentially from 50 to 500. I don’t even have a right to know about the assets of Funds 1-9, because I haven’t invested in them, and I don’t want to have to ask. Is OGE going to make me ask?

If you don't know and can't know details that pretty much ends it the concern. You can always ask for an ethics opinion from the ethics lawyers if/when hired

Hi all, I have a question regarding retirement accounts. I am not sure if I should choose a Roth or 401k (company has 4+2% match). Currently 23, base salary is ~100k and investments have brought 45k this year which has me teetering between a 22-24% tax bracket. Wondering what the usual tax bracket is of people retired (around 65yo) as I’m not sure anything would bring in significant income with the exception of investments. In my case would a Roth make sense? Appreciate any answers!!
