I’m not in Chicago personally but know our firm has an 1,850 hour requirement and starts associates at $180k
yeahhh, 120k & 2000 hr in NYC reading this post like 👀
Rising Star
OP you don’t say your year. I think that pay is low unless you are a first year and you get a big raise in year two. Take your billing rate times 1800 and divide by 3. That is the old way of determining associate salary. I am in a Chicago boutique and we pay our senior paralegals, who function like 4-5 year attorneys, more than that.
Some Chicago info mixed into this thread: https://joinfishbowl.com/post_odpt6i
Thanks!
I started a year ago at 2000, $110
1800, 160k
(Big law but mid-sized Chicago office) 2000 hours, $200,000 base salary + $30k bonus
I’m at 1800, $90k. Trying to figure out if that’s normal.
I agree, but I love the work. 40+ attorneys. I’m trying to decide if I should ask for more.
