You know what? Hybrid is great but remote is better

Hey! Any Google folks know if it’s possible to negotiate fully remote if a contract role is hybrid? Personally, I don’t want to relocate and go to the office on a contract role given the current economy. Plus, I’m assuming contractors are the first to go in layoffs. I just think it’s a fair trade off if I’d be allowed to work fully remote. I’m also trying to have flexibility to manage my Airbnb business in a different country. Same time zone as the home office if I’d travel weeks at a time.

Hello - hope everyone is having a great weekend. I'm looking into risk assurance opportunities at Meta, especially Application Manager, Controls (min 5 YOE) and Manager, Compliance (min 12 YOE). I am a Senior Manager with 9 years of IT risks assurance experience. Does anyone have any thought on which position I should apply? If anyone currently at Meta could share your experience, that would also help. If anyone is open to providing referrals, I could provide my background. Facebook (Meta)

100% remote at my industry IT audit job
Mentor
We are being pushed to go back on site by everyone with a sales target associated to their compensation lol
There is talk on the business side of our audit group that they want to go back in on a more regular interval but IT is 100% remote.
Mostly going back in person. I’ve seen a few here and there remote but they are highly competitive
Only by boomers who don't understand millenials and gen z. I think they're hesitant to enforce anything since people would leave
I’ve definitely seen a push to have folks come into the office 2-3 days a week these days. 100% remote jobs still exist but are getting rarer.
Most of my clients require people in the office 2-3 days, some more and some less but 100% remote seems to be a thing of the past.
My clients are the same - 3 days a week at the clients that want us there

My clients IA groups are all remote but there’s a push at pwc. Just talked to a recruiter last week and he said the number of remote jobs he’s seeing in our field hasn’t changed.
Still like 90% remote and don't see that changing anytime soon.
I recently had an offer that specified in person 3 days a week. I went back to the hiring manager negotiated fully remote opportunity and he was fine with it.
Lots of talk, but haven’t seen the hammer truly come down yet
Going back
Lots of rhetoric from upper management and BD folks about "being in front of clients". I think it's a reflection of the tighter market - being in person makes those people feel like they're able to sell better. And maybe they are...
But they can't see past their own noses to understand that not everyone needs to be in person.
I work in industry, we were 1 day a week in the office for the past couple years. Going to 2 days a week starting in May.
in person at B4
We encourage but don't mandate that people come to the office - at least a few days a week. Many do, some dont.
My clients are spread across the country. So no, because it’s not feasible to be in office.
Still fully remote. Some clients might request a 1-3 day on-site but that's only old school or big clients once or twice a year and is more of a benefit.
Our company started with the full-time office work since January this year. We are almost 90% working in the office. It's fine with me since I started in the office 4 years ago. Just returning to the usual consequences of my job.
