Slalom is a staff aug but still better than having nothing. Background check could uncover the truth. Not worth the lie.
weird. I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone do n a staff aug project in 4 years. What market does that or tech or what?

So when applying to my current job I actually left my last two employers off (both were rather short stints in consulting). When asked in interviews and at offer time I just explained that I was working but didn’t think it added anything to the picture on my experience so left it off the resume.
What's the problem showing slalom?
maybe OP is a MBB simp
Sorry what am I missing here, what's wrong with having Slalom on your resume?
What’s wrong with Slalom
Yes, it's weird, and snobby.
For those saying “what’s wrong with Slalom”, it’s widely considered a joke firm in the consulting industry.
Sometimes people joking don’t know what they are joking about. As any other company, there are strong and weak sides and practices, and quite a few areas (at least in tech consulting) where Slalom leads
Pretty weird to leave your current company off your resume or try to obscure what it is. Better to just leave it on and explain why you're looking for something different now
You think it’s better to have a “career break” listed than Slalom? 😂
Late to this thread but as someone who reached out to me from Slalom about opps, I’m curious as well. I also didn’t reach MDs note as condescending.
Yes. Very weird.
You could pretend you were an independent contractor for them. If pushed say you can't dislose the firm you were working for due to confidentiality.

Concealing information would be a red flag to me and most employers.
Wouldn’t they realize after your background check??
You say "serious question" but you haven't given a single reason why you would want to do this, and have avoided answering any questions in the same vein. Maybe it's Slalom's reputation that would actually benefit from you leaving it off your resume.
Definitely agree, “career break” is a lot better than Slalom.
At some point you’ll have to explain the gap, and that might be weird conversation
OP: You’re overthinking. If you want to stay in consulting, what’s your experience going to be? (You don’t say you were at ACN etc.). If you want to work in industry, at worst the HM will be indifferent to Slalom. At best, you get to explain all the engagements that give you a broad perspective.

Is slalom that bad?
Why?
I took walmart off my resume.
Store. I setup shelves. Thought it would tarnish the prestigious Deloitte name.
It’s not hard to answer questions about a previous employer in a diplomatic manner. It’s basic BS 101.
Slalom has a strong reputation. Don’t get caught up in fish bowl semantics
