Is it always the case that MBB folks work 14 to 16 hours?

I'm thinking about doing an MBA, but I don't aspire to live that kind of life post MBA. (If I hypothetically do get into MBB/Strategy consulting)

Already have a work life where 12 hours is considered an average while you work on engagements.

I gave my various rounds of interview in Deloitte USI 2 months ago, and since then till last Friday it was showing " interview in progress" on their job portal, HR said earlier that we are interviewing other candidates. I got an offer from Amazon last week and asked Deloitte recruiter to speed up the process, i didn't get any reply on my email but now it's showing " review in progress" on the job portal. What does it mean? Shall I wait for Deloitte offer or take Amazon's offer.

How necessary is an extracurricular for MBA apps? I work a ton of hours and don’t have a lot of time or interest in any activity that I could reasonably put on an app. I spend the little free time I have on activities I enjoy (spending time with SO and friends, working out, Netflix, etc). Would it be really bad if I had nothing in that section on my app beyond college extracurriculars? Or should I force some activity? I have enough time before I apply to make it look legit to adcoms.
