Is it bad to apply to an industry job when you have a vacation planned over new years?

Go for it. If you get the offer, you can let them know about the planned vacation and see if it's problematic. Worrying about it before you even apply is putting the cart before the horse.

Over new years like in 2027? Its absolutely illegal to do. They will actually be legally allowed to call your dad, and tell him how terrible it is for you to not mention a vacation that you have planned 10+ months from now.

JK lol, i think it’ll be totally fine and if i were you i wouldn’t worry about not worry about it

funny

EY 1: Yea i only put “JK” just to make sure OP knew i was just joking around lol

No, people get hired with vacations their fist month working even. As long as you’re upfront about it with your recruiter, they should manage that with the client if you make it far enough for it to become relevant - let the company make the decision if it’s okay or not.

Thanks all. I was more worried about year-end close. I have a few other vacations planned as well but wasn't sure if that one would be shunned?

i think you’ll be okay people do have vacations/lives outside of work even when they switch jobs 🙏🏻

Hi Fishes, need help.
I recently switched a company 3 months back in India. Now I have got an interview coming up from a company for Dublin Ireland location. What should I respond, if the interviewer asks, why I am leaving my current company in just 3 months.

Need acceptable responses in such situations. Thanks in advance.

So i have been fortunate that i have managed to go through my career without the need for a degree. I was lucky enough to have been hired by one of the worlds top consulting firms, worked with a whole lot of big clients and travelled a lot. It's gotten to the point where I am not even asked about the lack of a degree on my resume. Personally though, it bothers me. I have a whole bunch of certifications in my industry…but just no formal degree. (cont'd)

Out of curiosity. How would a company view a potential candidate who has a period of unemployment to study for the CPA. I am considering to start studying for the exam but I know I would need to leave my employer in order to give 110%. I am contemplating the idea of at least passing one part while employed. Then leaving my employer to study FAR. I am considering to leave my current employer anyways, so it’s more of how my future employer would view that lapse.
