Personally I wouldn't. If you apply for a job that has to run a background check on you, especially if it's in care or hospitality work, then they can check the information on your cv and if they see that you've lied you could potentially end up with a fraud charge. I get the struggle of job hunting but it's best to try volunteering to give you more experience or to just be really detailed about your skills and upsell yourself
I always tell the truth but the job at the time required a ged or equivalent but they gave me a chance to go back to school didn’t get to do it cuz life kept getting more and more expensive so I stayed working when hr finally asked me about it I was like three years in I told them I can’t go to school and go home go to work with 5 kids that’s unrealistic and they agreed but I was also there best order selector at oatey at the time.so just talk to the job life is gonna happen and not everything is in our control.
Embellish is ok, fabricate is not.
Assistant department manager, but capable of being the dept manager… just put manager and drop assistant
Stuff like that is a lot more prevalent than you think
If you’re questioning it, then maybe not. I understand it can be hard to find a good job, but I can think of at least three reasons it’s a bad idea:
1. If someone hires you expecting you to have this experience, they may expect you to actually do the things you lie about being able to do. Not only will you look dumb but it’s going to suck for the employer and probably your coworkers too.
2. They may look into your resume and find out your lying and you don’t get the job anyway, look like a liar, and I think could even possibly be charged with some kind of fraud.
3. You’re always going to know in the back of your mind that you lied, so you’re always going to have an underlying feeling of being inferior to the person you claimed to be and of being a liar.
Doesn’t sound good for you or employer.
I wouldn’t do it cuz they’ll find out by how you work if you lied.
Yes you are right in saying that ,but hopefully you would learn the tasks quickly and prove your worth 😁
Lie on your resume? If you do, you are a horrible person. Let me tell you a story. I knew a girl that I worked with. She was sweet and gave no bullshit when push comes to shove. Well fast forward, she didn't even have basic knowledge how to follow the seven rules of service. And I told my manager. My manager quickly called her past jobs and turned out that she paid them to lie as well for she was never a server or had customer service skills. So yes, they can catch you. A real good manager would know the instant your resume hits their desk and they called to get a bullshit answer, they will just trash the resume.
