Anybody can refer me for Ansys?
I'm serving notice period in TCS and my last day is in 2 weeks. I requested for pickup of laptop in the portal but I came to know that it will take time for pickup and I won't be available if they come late. So I decided to go to office and surrender the laptop as I'm in the location of office only. Is there a seperate request to be raised for surrender of laptop and how to cancel the existing request for pickup. Please guide.Tata Consultancy

Delivering what you've agreed to is proper. No need to be a hero. Always remember that companies have people in them who have been trained to pressure people into working beyond what has been agreed. And the "grind all the time" mentality that some people think is cool is really just manipulation and exploitation.

What a great perspective! It's okay to be okay and fulfilling the agreement between you and the employer is acceptable by both.
Every time I’ve overachieved or went above and beyond I was still given a “meets expectations” on my reviews and told “no one ever gets a 5” which is super annoying.
I have gotten comfortable with being average and doing just what my job entails but I feel it comes at a risk as their are still coworkers around you who strive to overachieve and in a way makes you look bad by not doing so.

I agree! I have taken on extra work and made too many sacrifices just to be told I met expectations, which is so frustrating.
I stopped overachieving because I know that I will never see that ever elusive "5".
I don't want to be average ever. I am one of those people that strives to be the best in everything I do and I am very career driven. I just think being average would drive me nuts because I constantly stive to be better. But I do think there is something to be said for not always going above and beyond.

I understand what you are saying, because I would always go above & beyond. I realized after 20 years that I would not be recognized or compensated for it. Now I work at the same pace as the coworkers who don't put in any extra efforts.
