You can’t just push back, you need to build a relationship and have them trust you, so they’re more receptive when you want to try something different. Easier said than done
It’s increasingly difficult these days.
Your job is to be a psychologist
Just end every sentence with
“……….. but happy to do whatever you feel is best!”

I think you can push back, but you need to stop as soon as you hit resistance.
Only if your boss wants to push back and empowers you and protects you. Push back internally and try to let Accounts or higher ups push back on the client.

I feel it’s best if I get my idea or opinion out there for myself and if it gets used or not I had my say. Though we have had in house creative leave the company because they have been stuck in a rut of the blankest on white content and do not feel creatively fulfilled

If you’re depending on your job to give you creative fulfillment then you’re doing it wrong.
No one is perfect; everyone makes mistakes, and some people are unaware of their errors. If you have better suggestions, you can give advice
As I see it, it is your responsibility to advise client on your best thinking. You don’t want to twist any arms; find a way to do great work that makes everbody feel great. It can be done—but not by rolling over.
If you build enough trust, they will start to listen to you. But that first part can take a while.
You can always take a 1-2 approach, give the what they asked for + what you think.
