I would literally say anything besides you’re going on a job interview. Anything.
Just say you have a personal appointment that can’t be rescheduled, and be firm about it.
There is nothing positive that would come out of saying you’re interviewing, only downside. Depending on what the day looks like for your work schedule, I would just send an email the night before or the morning of saying a personal matter has come up that you have to attend to. You don’t have to ask for permission to not show up to work
Sick, food poisoning, whatever is needed
Just call in sick
Don't say sick either. You have a personal commitment. Leave it at that.
Haha don't say why but tell them you need half a day for personal reasons.
Yes. It's not the way to go about it.
You will not be fired for telling anyone that you are interviewing. If you are "good" you may soon have HR and Partners calling you wanting to chat about your career, as they will try to "save" you. Your manager may ask for you to be replaced on their job. They aren't likely going to want to invest more time in someone that doesn't want to be there.
Get up and go to lunch/ interview that is it.
You are quite literally better off saying absolutely nothing than saying that you are interviewing.
Due to the project we’re on now I don’t see another way they’ll let me off. If I said I have a doctors appt, they’ll say do your doctor appt another time.
But why is saying I’m going on a job interview such a bad thing? Not trying to argue, I just honestly don’t know.
No....if you don't care just come in late and say you had a personal matter to attend to.
Say you have a wake?
