I was just offered a CUNY role. The title is Higher Education Assistant. According to Glassdoor, the average annual pay for that role is $83,418. However, I was offered $62,500. I requested for the minimum annual salary to be 75k. Does anyone have experience navigating the CUNY system and their pay?

Not at all the norm, but I wouldn't be surprised if there are *some* folks in that profile at the firm. We're nearly 35k people, there are inherently lots of fringe cases at either end of the spectrum here.
Booz Allen would be “losing money” on that person (if slotted to an LCAT), but a team will lose money on key people that bring an outsized benefit to a bigger team.
Seems very high. There could be a nonzero number of people in 34,000 that did in fact get that based on super-specific skills beyond that basic YOE, but it’s several standard deviations away from what is normal.
Simple answer? No. I have 15 YOE and my salary when I departed Booz (Lead Engineer, machine learning) was $184K. With 2 YOE, even a full scope is a borderline SC or A, and I’d say the high water mark is $130K.
I’m a data scientist (similar role) with 3 YOE and a TS at 115. Could be wrong but that seems really high. The highest I could see with just 2 years would probably be 150
That seems a bit high. I’m a Data Scientist 1 year out of undergrad and a Secret at 100k. I think BAH1 is right, maybeee $150k.
My punctuation was lacking.
I’m a data scientist/senior consultant, 1 year out of undergrad, and have a Secret clearance sitting at $100k.
At 175k you’re pushing somewhere in the experienced A or LA role. Will need more than 2 yoe to achieve that.
Seems extremely inflated.
I’m more on the functional side. But I remember I turned down an offer from Booz Allen bc it was oddly low and they wouldn’t budge much
If you go to a small company, you can ask for that with around 5 years experience. My wife is in cyber with 13 years experience and her salary from a large company to a smaller company went from $180k to $230k+ with CI Poly.
What location?
She got more at a smaller company? Figured it would be the opposite
Smaller firm = less middle management = less overhead
Some small companies do this: 401k contributions (5-10%) even if you don’t contribute, $10-25k referral bonus, 20-40% higher base salary, $0 insurance premiums.
The math makes sense. They get to take the same 8-15% profit as other firms but they don’t have office/overhead costs like big firms with support staff. If small companies try to pay you the same as Booz Allen, Guidehouse or Deloitte, they’re being greedy and taking 25-35% for themselves to get filthy rich paying for their $5M home mortgage in Great Falls somewhere.. or they just got unlucky and the contract has no money.
For full scope, that isn't high.
At BAH, though?
Where (location) are y’all working to get these salaries? I left BAH 4 years ago with nearly a decade of experience because I couldn’t get over $100k.

Your experience at BAH is driven by your pyramid and the type of contracts you're on. You might be on staff aug contracts paying at the bottom of the range or you might be on cutting edge technical contracts paying the top of the range.
SWE with a FSP is likely going to be one of the highest paying job families here, though the scenario in the initial post would absolutely be a fringe case.
