Is it worth it to get a travel car seat if you’re flying to a destination where you will then be driving? Kid will be 2, hoping to fly to see family later in the year. We have a big graco car seat we can take with us but I don’t know if it’s going to be a hassle or not.

I was worried about this too, before I tried it. You just bring your car seat and check it, it’s really easy. They put it into a bag and check it just like luggage. I’ve heard from other moms that you can get a rental car seat with your rental car, but I’ve never tried it.

Just a watch-out: We tried the rental with car seat once and they didn’t have the car seat when we arrived! Needless to say, it was a huge inconvenience to get it sorted out with another rental company that had one while dealing with a cranky toddler after a flight.

Yes! Get the stroller + car seat in one if kid isn’t too big for it — you can push it thru airport and not shlep. It also fits in the airplane seat.

I wonder if she will still fit in her infant car seat... it would work perfectly with our stroller but she might be too tall honestly. Ty

I traveled a lot with my child’s when she was small, and the way we got around it is once we get our rental car my husband would drive to the nearest Walmart or target get a cheap one that we can throw away or return on our way back. It’s always cheaper than renting one and less of a hassle on the plane. This was our little secret! I understand that everyone does what they’re most comfortable with as long as it feels safe.

But the seat and just leave it with your family when you go. They’ll be glad to have an extra.

We got them for our trips. We would have used our regular ones but they are those gigantic Grace 4-in-1s. They are good for visiting family - ie, trips where it’s not a huge deal to be lugging around a bulky car seat because the people you’re visiting can help you. But we’ve also rented them through the rental car company, which was easiest when traveling with 2 toddlers (as opposed to lugging two car seats to Paris).

This is our travel set up. Mountain buggy nano and Cosoco scenera. So we push her around in airports then quickly fold down nano and she sits on the car seat/check https://youtu.be/4LotN7k5T2Q

We used this https://www.gogobabyz.com and it was amazing. Your own seat just pops on to it so you wheel her around the airport easily, gate check the whole thing and pop it off again for the rental car. You always have your own car seat that you know is right for your child and it takes up practically no room to store at home between trips

For sure. I’ve traveled with 2 kids cross Atlantic several times and the Cosco Scenera is incredible for travel. It’s convertible so can be used front and back facing, under 8 lbs so super portable and only $40 at Walmart. We got a car seat cover with back straps and it was super convenient.

Hi fishes 😊
Anyone interviewed recently for a PM position at Adobe or just works there? I had the 2nd round and I know the next will involve me presenting a business case to a panel of 5.

1. Any idea of what the business case can be?
2. What is their general outlook on parental leave? In the 2nd round I basically told them that I am pregnant and willgo on mat leave in March. I wonder if I will be dismissed just because of this or I still have a chance...

Any thoughts?

Received an offer as Engagement Director from Salesforce (CSG, pre sales, L9). Great benefits package, 40% increase in total comp and better WLB.

I do love the people in my practice and current client, but career trajectory has stalled after taking parental leave earlier this year and (yet another) change in leadership.

Realistically, making to Director is 2-3 years away and will require sacrificing time with my family that I am not prepared to give up.

Should I stay or should I go?

Rare road trip use (1x or 2x / yr; <300 miles one way)

What is work-life balance like in big tech legal? I’m currently in house at a large multinational; I like my job and I get paid fine, with a very good WLB (40-45 hrs). I want to look into FAANG-type opportunities as they would mean a huge pay bump, and I think I’m qualified, but I have no idea about the hours, and I don’t want to substantially give up WLB, as that’s why I left BigLaw. I don’t want to be miserable again. I know Amazon is poorly reputed for lawyer WLB… what about other places?
