Honestly if you feel you have a group of people you like working with ACN, stay put. The comp change here is more like rounding error. Hardest part of consulting is finding teams you don’t mind working 60h work weeks with, looks like you have that already, so I only see potential downsides with the move
Pros: our content and competitive level in FS really is top notch in industry, exit opps are pretty solid given our connections in the FS industry and people can move up quickly. My guess is pay overall is stronger than Accenture, this is definitely true at the partner level, unclear to me below that
Cons: WLB is not great, as mentioned if you’re more fin-tech oriented, I could see Accenture being competitive given their tech strength
Pro
I’d take it.
OW>ACN every time.
+1
I would wait for that promotion and pay bump. I did a lateral move once for “culture” and an allegedly more lucrative bonus structure and really regretted it.
I don’t think you have given a convincing argument on why OW is better for you. Agree with most of the comments above; if you have a good team and if you like working with the people, then I’d stay put. Your sal is rounding error at this point. Don’t get caught up in brand name; you could be miserable at OW.
What kind of work would you be doing, would you like it, and are you looking to exit consulting soon?
I mean,.OW isn't going to hold you back from jumping to FAANG, if that's your goal.
Although it'd be a reputation upgrade, you do seem like you're comfortable and in a god track at ACN, which isn't something to take lightly. Who knows if you'll dislike your time, fit, and WLB at OW? You will definitely work a lot more hours at OW compared to ACN.
Especially since it seems like you're thinking of exiting at some point, the comp difference isn't that meaningful (it's a short time span).
If end goal is faang stay at Accenture
