I’d say yes. I have job hopped and have increased my income significantly. I’ve never asked for a salary increase since I know I’ll be denied, instead I start to job hunt looking for that salary increase. So far it has worked for me.
Jumping to another company is usually the only way to attain a decent salary bump. If you stick around too long at one company you'll wind up being taken for granted. Or you'll get pigeonholed and people will only see you as being in the job you're in. Sometimes it's better to make a clean start somewhere else.
I wouldn’t be in the position I am if I didn’t job hop. I stayed at my first job for 8 years, was promised promotion after promotion and was always given an excuse as to why it couldn’t happen or why the raise I wanted wasn’t in the budget despite being the top sales performer. I left and got an 80% salary increase and global responsibility. Looking for a new job now and am in talks to have another 30% increase on top of that to bring my base comp to 180k. Ask for a raise if you like your job first but if there’s excuses then go elsewhere.
Honestly I hate to say that it is but in my experience, it is. I have been job hopping for the past decade and it has been the only way for me to get promotions and more pay. I think it used to be frowned upon but now, not so much
Trust me its still frowned upon. These days everyone wants a big paycheck, but doesnt want to work for it.
Were you ever on a team when you were a kid? If so, did you just keep quitting because your team was bad?
Did your parents just pat your back and say its ok, everyones a winner.
Find a company you believe in and stick with it. Dont be a whiner!
If youre good at what you do, you will be successful
Find a company you believe in, stay focused, be confident, and things will come together.
It sounds like you know what youre worth. Go out and prove it to somebody! Work hard, show up earlier and stay later. You gotta be better than the guy next to you.
