Is McKinsey worth it? I have an interview coming up with a recruiter for a business analyst position. I currently make great money and work 45 hours a week on average. What are the benefits of pivoting to MBB?

Benefits? It’s MBB - you get amazing exit opps and a chance to be part of a global scandal. Congrats on the interview, goodluck OP. But seriously, it’s all individual and depends. I would take MBB in a heartbeat

MBB will find a way to fill all that free time you've got. So there's that. Pretty good network once you leave, smart and helpful colleagues while you're there, faster promotions if you strive for them, and more topically interesting projects available for you to angle for.

I’d only go to MBB as an express route to better exit ops. I’m in Strategy at Accenture and while it might not be MBB I think you can have an interesting career if you find the right people and clients that do interesting work. The % of our work that is interesting, C-level is probably smaller though. WLB, pre covid at least, is better. Likely the same at Deloitte.

Hello, My queries is more towards how to deal with counter offer? 1- During screening. Why are you looking for job after having an offer? It took a month to interview you and release offer letter. And many more question on same. 2- After getting 2nd offer letter. How to deal with previous org (1st offr)? Any email body if you can share will be really helpful. Please share your thoughts.

Got offered to come on as a full-time employee after working for Guidehouse as a contractor for about 4 months. My position wouldn’t change, but after speaking with the recruiter I have a feeling I’m being low balled. I have over a year and a half of consulting analyst exp prior to contracting, and am currently acting as a team lead on this project. Am I wrong to expect a pay range of 70k-90k? They’re currently offering a little less than 50k

Is MBB (mostly thinking about McKinsey) really that bad in terms of WLB? I feel like people tend to exaggerate things sometimes - i was told i'd be working approximately 65h at Deloitte in Tech Strategy and honestly that barely ever happened. I wasn't considering switching since I love my job and my team, but many people are telling me I shouldn't "waste" my potential at Deloitte (whatever that means...). They kind of got to me and now i'm looking for more info about the culture/work at MBB.
