Hi Infosys guys, I have cleared one technical interview and got email for further round which is planned for tomorrow. Email mentions that this is a telephonic interview, is this supposed to be an HR round discussing salary or another tech round.

Definitely not. It is a decent brand, but way below MBB and arguably quite lower than some tier 2 firms (OW, ATK, Roland Berger in Europe, LEK).
In the US I'd say Deloitte is close to the tier 2 firms listed above. Outside of the US though, Deloitte is not even close.
I hate these pedigree discussions .... our work is mutually exclusive. We don't do top tier C suite strategy and MBB doesn't do transformation / delivery work. I believe it's truly different work, but if you think their brand is "better" than prove you can get a job there and thrive instead of asking if CapGeminis strategy group competes with Bain on private equity deals .....
It was bought by deloitte its basically s&O
Monitor is very well regarded and the place you want to be if you want to do strategy work and couldn't get into mbb, lek, ow, atk, marakon, etc.
lol I love it BCG1
C1, not a fan of these discussions, but in the U.K., and Europe in general, Monitor doesn't really do too well. It's a considered a significant step below firms such as OW, S& and LEK.
This thread is all sorts of whacko

BCG1: You're leaving money in the table then.
To answer OP: no and pretty good. Deloitte is still an accounting firm first and foremost no matter how much all you guys try to sell it as something else.
Accenture is probably Michigan State.
Shut up McK1...you are only using us anyway
Haha I respectfully disagree. Having done organic and inorganic growth strategy work in industry and consulting, accounting principles are rarely, if ever, discussed. Quantifying impact to P&L line items and cash flow yes but that's about it.
Senior consultant 2 works for EY
M1 I mean transformation delivery i.e. Integrators like ourselves, Accenture, etc. end to end SDLC. Unless McKinsey started hiring engineers, architects and coders please enlighten me
I know they don't, it's not their value prop or brand permission. All goes back to the original point that it's just a different business model
Yeah, Deloitte and other Big 4 try to do everything - including corporate strategy. MBB are more restrained.
B1 , we are not clients :D
Again and again and again - it fucking depends. I'm with MD - in some areas and industries we barely have a footprint, in some others traditional S&O was stronger so it stayed there, but we also have sweetspots - e.g. MD is (inter)nationally recognized as a Pricing Leader, right up there with and above anyone else. Ignorance is crazy here - it's definitely not 'basically S&O' - Led separately, separate recruiting practices, very hard to transition into. And the comment it's not great abroad as well is BS too - in particular U.K. and France they're doing quite alright.
Great answer BCG
To answer the original question, MD looks great on a resume. MBB is always better. Beyond that it depends. I've had industry folks say they would rather hire MD folks over ATK and other boutique firms for roles that primarily focus on organic growth, innovation and pricing strategy. Their perspective was ATK does cost cutting and other things much better.
I'd compare this to b school rankings. Sometimes Chicago or some other school shows up as #1, but we all know HBS is the most prestigious. BTW, I did not go to HBS.
@EY1 great comparison.
